ShipDesi – Prohibited Items Policy

1. Introduction

This Prohibited Items Policy outlines the categories of items that cannot be shipped, stored, purchased, fulfilled, forwarded, exported, or otherwise handled through ShipDesi services.

These restrictions exist to comply with:

  • Indian laws and regulations
  • International shipping regulations
  • Airline and courier safety standards
  • Customs requirements
  • Destination-country import laws

By using ShipDesi, customers agree to comply fully with this Policy.

2. Customer Responsibility

Customers are solely responsible for ensuring that:

  • Items submitted for shipping are lawful
  • Items comply with destination-country regulations
  • Product descriptions and declared values are accurate
  • Shipments do not contain prohibited or restricted goods

ShipDesi reserves the right to:

  • Refuse service
  • Open and inspect packages
  • Reject shipments
  • Dispose of prohibited items
  • Suspend customer accounts

without prior notice where necessary.

3. Absolutely Prohibited Items

3.3 Explosives & Hazardous Materials

Including:

  • Flammable chemicals
  • Fuel products
  • Industrial chemicals
  • Corrosive materials
  • Toxic substances
  • Compressed gases

3.4 Counterfeit & Illegal Goods

Including:

  • Fake branded items
  • Pirated products
  • Copyright-infringing materials
  • Unauthorized replicas
  • Stolen goods

3.5 Human Remains & Biological Materials

Including:

  • Human organs
  • Blood products
  • Biohazard materials
  • Infectious substances

3.6 Illegal Pornographic or Obscene Materials

Including any material prohibited under:

  • Indian law
  • Destination-country law
  • International regulations

4. Restricted Items

The following items may be restricted, require approvals, or may not be accepted depending on:

  • Destination country
  • Courier rules
  • Customs regulations
  • Packaging standards

ShipDesi may refuse these items at its sole discretion.

Including:

  • Prescription medicines

These may be restricted due to flammability or airline safety rules.

4.5 Precious Items

Including:

Additional insurance and documentation may be required.

5. Fulfillment Inventory Restrictions

Fulfillment clients may not store inventory involving:

  • Illegal products
  • Dangerous goods
  • Regulated pharmaceuticals
  • Hazardous chemicals
  • Counterfeit products
  • Products violating intellectual property rights

ShipDesi reserves the right to remove or reject inventory immediately.

6. Personal Shopper Restrictions

ShipDesi may refuse Personal Shopper requests involving:

  • Regulated products
  • Age-restricted products
  • Suspicious transactions
  • High-risk items
  • Products prohibited for export

Approval of a request is entirely at ShipDesi’s discretion.

7. Customs & Regulatory Compliance

ShipDesi does not guarantee that an item accepted for shipping:

  • Will clear customs
  • Is legally importable
  • Will be approved by destination authorities

Customs authorities may:

  • Inspect
  • Delay
  • Return
  • Seize
  • Destroy shipments

Customers bear full responsibility for:

  • Customs compliance
  • Duties and taxes
  • Legal import eligibility

8. Misdeclaration & Fraud

Customers may not:

  • Misdeclare package contents
  • Understate shipment value
  • Use false descriptions
  • Conceal prohibited items

ShipDesi reserves the right to:

  • Suspend accounts
  • Refuse future services
  • Report illegal activity
  • Cooperate with authorities

where fraud or illegal conduct is suspected.

9. Package Inspection Rights

ShipDesi reserves the right to:

  • Open
  • Inspect
  • Scan
  • Verify

any package handled through its facilities.

Refusal to permit inspection may result in shipment rejection.

10. Disposal of Prohibited Items

If prohibited items are discovered, ShipDesi may:

  • Refuse shipment
  • Return the item
  • Surrender the item to authorities
  • Dispose of the item

at the customer’s cost and risk.

No compensation or refund shall be provided for prohibited items.

11. Limitation of Liability

ShipDesi shall not be liable for:

  • Customs seizures
  • Regulatory penalties
  • Shipment destruction
  • Delays caused by restricted goods
  • Customer non-compliance

All associated risks remain the responsibility of the customer.
